General Summary:

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid VA driver’s license

  • Motor Vehicle Report must meet company standards

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Understanding of the industry as well as thorough knowledge of all HBC package and merchandising

  • Prioritizes training and development of team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Be resilient, adaptable as well as a driver of change

  • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office

Experience:

  • Previous route sales and management experience preferred, but not required

  • Experience in creating solutions to minimize or eliminate problems

  • Previous route sale and/or management experience

  • Experience in the beer or beverage industry preferred

Communication:

  • Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures

  • Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner at all times per the Company Values, Tap-In

  • Resolves conflicts respectfully and s timely manner, ask for assistance from appropriate supervisor/HR as needed

  • Maintains job-related confidentiality

  • Participates actively in department team and all-staff meetings

  • Communicates respectfully at all times

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

  • Operates with a sense of teamwork

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage a team of Sales Representatives within an assigned territory.

  • Work with assigned Director/Area Sales Manager to help create, assign, cascade, and execute against sales goals and objectives.

  • Work closely with assigned Sales Representatives to maximize sales, distribution, and revenue of all HBC products in assigned territory.

  • Oversee proper rotation, merchandising, and overall appearance of your team’s account base.

  • Directly responsible for the overall performance of the team.

  • Communicate store level issues to the appropriate HBC personnel, and follow-up to ensure issues are resolved.

  • Monitor pricing at store level and communicate issues to the appropriate HBC personnel.

  • Always carry an adequate supply of all thematic and generic POS.

  • Be familiar and well versed with code date policies of all suppliers.

  • Responsible for all account maintenance forms (i.e., closings, openings, change of contact, etc.). Report all changes to Sales Execution Coordinator.

  • Attendance at sales and management meetings is mandatory.

  • During the absence of an assigned Salesperson, The Team Leader is responsible to ensure route is adequately maintained.

  • Responsible for following instructions and established safety policies. Use the safety measures provided.

  • Do not interfere or misuse work equipment. Should only use equipment if trained and authorized.

  • Promotes safety through re-enforcement of current safety, additional programs, safety meetings, proper footwear and clothing and discussions of workers’ compensation costs.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires exposure to inside and outside conditions, extreme cold and hot temperatures, with the following physical demands: bending, climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, carrying, and lifting/moving up to 90 pounds.
