Job description

General Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible the following: the management and coordination of recruitment, onboarding. The individual will assist the Human Resources Director with the day-to-day operations for the human resources department.

As a HR Manager/Generalist, you will be a champion of culture and creating a strong partnership across the business and helping to drive great employee experience through the people of the organization. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuously changing priorities is a huge plus.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.

  • Previous Human Resources experience, familiarity with distribution/transportation/sales environment preferred

  • Requires a working knowledge of various areas of Human Resources such as: employee relations, training & facilitation, coaching , recruitment (at both non-exempt and Page 2 of 4 exempt levels), and HR laws and regulations (to include Worker's Compensation, ADA,FMLA, and EEOC)

  • PC skills to include – MS Office Suite (Word, strong Excel skills, Outlook, PowerPoint),

  • Experience with ATS and HRIS systems

  • Working knowledge of employment/labor laws

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental/functional team

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the Human Resources functions in the organization.

  • Source, recruit and facilitate the hiring of qualified exempt and non-exempt open positions; collaborates with department manager to understand skills and competencies for required openings.

  • Manage and edit job postings, position descriptions, and position requirements.

  • Draft and extend accurate offer letters.

  • Maintain and manage various communication channels.

  • Collaborate with the HRD to develop effective recruitment strategies and identify future staffing needs.

  • Schedules and conduct new employee orientation.

  • Conducts exit interviews.

  • Answers employee and manager requests and questions related to HR.

  • Maintain detailed, complete, and compliant employee records.

  • Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audit Forms I-9.

  • Distribute and monitor employee performance evaluations and ensure they are done in a timely manner (i.e., three months, six months, one year and yearly thereafter).

  • Coordinate response to Unemployment Claims. Represent the Company at hearing and investigations.

  • Revise HBC documents/forms as needed and directed for the employee handbook, job descriptions, manuals and etc.

  • Review, manage and maintain employee handbook as well as other HBC other policies, making recommendations for improvement when notice.

  • Help develop and execute training and development programs

  • Prepare/create reports and/or queries as needed

  • Escalate employee relations and other issues as needed in support of the HRD. Help support and coach leadership team to ensure compliance and successful execution: DOT Compliance, Training, FMLA/LOA/ADA documentation and tracking Incentive Programs

  • Maintain bulletin boards to ensure compliance with state and federal laws

  • Provide support for event planning and coordinating to include employee gatherings, community outreach, onsite or off-site meetings

  • Assists management with coaching and corrective actions for non-exempt employees.

  • Assists HR Director with various research projects and/or special projects.

  • Support all safety initiatives to create and foster a strong culture of safety at all levels within the building.

  • Back for Payroll Processing.

  • Maintain a high level of high-level confidentiality.

  • Other duties as assign.

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
