Corporate Controller
Position Overview:
The Corporate Controller will have the primary responsibility of managing all accounting-related activities and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Initially, this position will be responsible for the documentation of all existing accounting policies and processes while identing and recommending alternative and more efficient processes among other projects.
Essential Job Functions

Responsible for the accuracy of financial records by ensuring accounting controls and policies are being followed. This includes ensuring the integrity of the financial information through daily monitoring the invoicing, accounts payable, and cash collection efforts.

Prepare and maintain the timely reporting of both monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Manage all accounting systems and data storage to ensure files and other accounting data are properly maintained.

Assist in developing and implementing procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow within the organization to appropriate personnel.

Evaluate the overall cost effectiveness of company leases and make recommendations on needed changes.

Monitor supplier bill backs, calculation of various monthly supplier rebates, and monitor supplier account receivable.

Preparation of annual budgets (short-term and long-term) while monitoring actuals and researching variances with department managers to comprehend and document causes.

Manage outside CPA firm relationship and the annual audit process.

Maintain key relationships with lenders and other service providers providing them with required financial information while monitoring company performance relative to bank covenants.

Monitor warehouse inventory counts and ensure processes and count procedures are being followed and ensure inventory counts are reconciled to the books. Track and report OOC (out of code beer) and supplier bill backs.

Work closely with the Payroll & Benefits Manager to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance. In partnership with Payroll & Benefits Manager, oversee the company’s benefit administration with emphasis on the 401k plan.
Experience and Competency Requirements

Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience in financial operations and a minimum of 5 years prior experience as a Controller and/or equivalent experience in public accounting.

Advanced analytical skills.

Knowledge of industry-specific accounting principles and other regulatory requirements preferred but not required.

Exceptional management, communication, and presentation skills.

Ability to identify process improvements and lead a team through the change process.

Microsoft Dynamics experience is a plus.
Qualifications/Licenses/Certificates

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

CPA (active license in good standing
